Community Mediation Program
Utah Dispute Resolution (UDR) provides mediation
services for a wide range of community disputes.
Examples of disputes that are addressed through
mediation include relationships involving:
- Neighbors who
have issues about noise, disturbances, animals,
and property boundaries.
- Landlords and
tenants who have issues about
security deposits, rent, repairs, damages, and
evictions.
- Consumers and
merchants who have issues about
product and service performances, payments, and
debts or loans.
- Workplace
relationships such as
employee-employee and employee-manager disputes.
This might include employee grievances,
discrimination claims, wage disputes, or
interpersonal issues.
- Business
relationships with issues involving
contracts or partnerships.
FeesFor community matters involving
neighborhood issues, there is no fee for mediation
services.
For workplace and business
matters that do not involve a dollar amount in
dispute, UDR charges a base fee of $120 per hour
for mediation, which is split equally among the
parties in conflict.
For
landlord/tenant and consumer/merchant disputes,
UDR charges fees on a sliding scale based on the
amount of money in dispute. Fees range from $20
flat fee to $60 per hour.
